Boat Club vs. Boat Ownership in South Florida

Storage, dockage, insurance, taxes, maintenance, cleaning — what disappears when you swap ownership for membership.

There’s a saying every boat owner eventually repeats: the two best days are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it. The costs between those two days are why boat clubs exist.

What ownership actually costs

Beyond the purchase itself, owning a boat in South Florida means paying for storage, dockage, maintenance, insurance and taxes — and spending your Saturday actually cleaning the boat instead of using it. Dockage alone is a significant monthly line item in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and maintenance never stops in salt water.

What membership replaces

Our members have all the benefits of owning their own boat but none of the cost or hassle that goes with it. You use the boats; the club takes care of everything else. Boat Club membership is $199 a month with entry as low as $1,200 — and there are no usage charges. Your only on-water cost is fuel.

Members also get what a single owned boat can’t offer: a variety of boat types and sizes — center consoles, bow riders, deck boats and cruisers — that few boaters could ever afford to own outright, across four South Florida locations.

The availability question

The first thing prospective members ask: will there be a boat when I want one? The club runs a 30+ boat fleet across four clubs and carefully manages fleet size to match member demand. Reservations run online 24/7 with equal access for all members, and you can lock in guaranteed bookings up to six months ahead. Weekday boating is typically quiet outside holiday weeks, and after-hours boating covers sunset cruises.
