Boating Destinations from Fort Lauderdale: The Venice of America

New River, Las Olas Isles, the ICW and Port Everglades — a member’s guide to Fort Lauderdale by boat.

Fort Lauderdale earned the name “Venice of America” with an extensive canal system best seen from the water. Our club sits at Riverfront Marina in the heart of downtown — 10 minutes to the Intracoastal, 10 more to Port Everglades.

The New River

Start where you dock: cruise past historic landmarks and tropical foliage, with waterfront dining spots like The Boathouse and Coconuts along the way. The riverfront’s casual, relaxed atmosphere — grill and pool included at the marina — makes the before-and-after as good as the trip.

Discover hidden coves and peaceful waterways while marveling at opulent estates and luxury yachts. Perfect for a lazy afternoon or a full day of exploration, with sandbars and anchorages along the route.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Anchor offshore for a relaxing day in the sun, or try snorkeling and paddleboarding in the clear water. During nesting season you might spot sea turtles along the beach — a unique and memorable sight.

Port Everglades

A front-row seat to cruise ships and maritime giants, and a great jumping-off point for offshore fishing or diving excursions in the Atlantic.
